Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (رحمة الله عليه), also known as Ali Hujwiri (رحمة الله عليه), was one of the greatest Sufi saints and scholars of the Indian Subcontinent. He was born in Ghazni (Afghanistan) and later settled in Lahore, where he spread the teachings of Islam and Tasawwuf.

He belonged to a noble lineage, and his nasab traces back to Rasool-e-Pak ﷺ (محمد ﷺ) through Maula Ali (عليه السلام) and Imam Hasan (عليه السلام), making him a Hasani Syed.

He is honored with the title “Data Ganj Bakhsh”, meaning Bestower of Treasures, due to his immense spiritual generosity and guidance. He is also the author of the famous book “Kashf al-Mahjub”, one of the earliest and most important works on Sufism.

Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (رحمة الله عليه) played a key role in spreading Islamic spirituality in the region and guiding countless seekers toward the path of Allah.

His blessed shrine, known as Data Darbar, is in Lahore, Pakistan, and is one of the most visited Sufi shrines in South Asia.
